Ghouls or necrotic post-humans
[1] are decrepit, rotting, zombie-like mutants. They are recipients of intensive, elongated radiation sickness which decays their skin, as well as their ligaments.[2] Paradoxically, they also have greatly extended overall lifespans and are, allegedly, immune to, and even brought back to health by the hazards of background radiation and/or nuclear fallout.
Super mutants
are mutated humans, products of infection by the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV). They are much taller, bulkier and muscular than pure strain humans, have (mostly) green, gray, or yellowish skin, are immune to disease and radiation, and are gifted with superhuman strength and endurance. Although they are completely sterile, the rapid regeneration of their cells caused by FEV makes them virtually biologically immortal (but not immune to death from injury).
Humans
or Homo sapiens (sometimes called smoothskins, normals or bleeders by ghouls and super mutants, respectively) are common inhabitants of Earth. In the post–apocalyptic age, "human" is more specifically used to denote those that have been more-or-less unaffected by radiation as opposed to mutants like ghouls and super mutants, even though said mutant types originate from humans. Four distinguishable, common ethnic groups are present in post-War America: African, Asian, Caucasian, and Hispanic.
Robots
A robot is a machine that is capable of autonomously completing tasks. Depending upon the robot, these tasks may be simple or complex, and may require little human intervention or complete oversight. Some of the robots in the universe will attack on first glance (protectron and robobrain) but most of the robots will just aid you in battle and come across friendly. Robots had been constructed by pre-War society to fill all niches and occupations. From general-purpose utility droids to full-fledged military battle machines, robots could be found in almost any environment and function.
Robobrains
Robobrains (military alphanumeric serial numbers RB-3928) are multi-purpose robots. Their memories and programs are stored inside an organic or partially organic brain, contained in a domed shell atop their chassis. They are considered intuitively superior to most robots, as human brains allow them a wider range of responses and functions. Their hands can operate most tools and weapons usable by humans.
Protectron
They do not pose much of a threat, due to their weaker weaponry and slow speeds. They are equipped with dual hand-lasers as well as a head-laser, so that in the event that one weapon is disabled, the protectron can still function in battle. Mainly worked in shops.
Robo-Animals
Roboticly generated animals. Animals that have worn out their flesh who have been worked on to become cyber-animals. They have minds of their own, having free will and educated minds. Their bodies are dependable, though the mechanics must be maintenanced. The only known survivors from cyberization have been dogs, Brahmin cows, mole rats, and donkeys. As long as their brain has been tempered with successfully, the animal is known as a robotic animal. As for instance, a Brahmin has a brain surgery and its frontal lobe is replaced with micro chip technology which is wired electronically to its spine for proper function. Even if nothing physical is evident, the animal can be robotic.
