Bark scorpion - differ from radscorpions not only in size and coloration, but in attack methodology. Where radscorpions tend to engage a target the second they see it, bark scorpions tend to hang back and try to flank the player if at all possible. This is made worse by their tendency to jump short distances if they detect prey that has gotten too close in a hurry. They tend to appear in groups of 3-4. If encountered in numbers, they frequently try to surround their intended target.
Bloatfly - Weak by nature, their attacks have very little effect. Their main attack consists of spitting spiked larvae at the player from a distance. They are relatively easy to kill in close combat, even if the player lacks any substantial skill. bloatflies are largely docile, rather territorial and common. They are usually found around graveyards or pools of radiated water in groups of three to five.
Cazador - have distinctive amber-orange wings, a blue-black carapace, and blood-red eyes. They have a quick and rather erratic flight pattern, making them difficult to hit. Their venomous attack can lead to a quick death if they succeed in poisoning their target. The spikes on their back inflate and deflate, both when idle and attacking.
Fire ant - large insects, covered in a reddish-brown carapace. They have large mandibles used for defending themselves as well as hunting. They also have the unusual ability to breathe fire.
Giant ant - large insects protected by a yellow-brown carapace. They have large mandibles which they use to both hunt and protect themselves. The long antennae they have sprouting out of their head act like sensors, allowing them to take in more information about their immediate environment.
Giant mantis - Compared to other mutant creatures, they are genetically more similar to the original specimen, albeit much larger. Mantises are significantly smaller than humans, but have an incredibly powerful attack. They almost always attack in swarms. Mantis eggs and mantis forelegs may be taken from their bodies.
Radscorpion - Radscorpions are mutated, via radiation and exposure to the FEV virus, from the North American Emperor scorpion, which were prolific in many pet stores at the time of the Great War. Contrary to many expectations, their venom grew more potent when they mutated rather than becoming diluted. Though considered nocturnal and sensitive to light, radscorpions can be found active during the daytime in the areas they inhabit. Samples of their venom can be used to make antivenom. Apart from their size, they appear visually identical to normal scorpions, with mottled, dark blueish-gray carapaces.
Radroach - radroaches mostly inhabit abandoned homes and buildings to scavenge on food that was left behind by whoever previously lived there. Some can also be found in the toxic dumps and on/around the roads.
Bighorner - mutated bighorn sheep that lived in the areas' high mountains. While settlers use them for their horns, meat, and hides, it has been observed that they can usually be found in close proximity to a banana yucca fruit, making for rather effective herb tracking.
Coyote - very territorial and will attack the player character if they stay nearby for too long. Coyotes are usually found in packs of up to three or four in the more desolate areas of the desert, especially in caves. They are slightly stronger than dogs, but do about the same amount of damage.
Night stalkers - genetic hybrids of rattlesnake and coyote DNA. They growl, howl, and whimper like regular coyotes, but hiss, rattle, and inject venom into their prey like snakes. Their bodies are mostly dog-like, covered in a combination of fur and scales, their heads and tails, however, are more like that of a rattlesnake, including fangs and a forked tongue. Night stalkers' right eyes are blue with a round pupil, while their left eyes are yellow with an elliptical pupil, like a rattlesnake's. They lay eggs, like a snake, which can be used to prepare Mushroom Cloud. Their blood is also used as an ingredient in antivenom and hydra.
Giant rat - Giant rats will not attack on sight, but will stand defensively in the way bighorners do. Giant rats appear to simply be larger versions of normal pre-War rats.
Mole rat - Mole rats are relatively caring parents, willing to sacrifice their own life for the well-being of the pups. Mole rat families travel in groups of usually three to seven, consisting of two to three adults and one to four pups. These families are moderately docile, keeping to themselves unless approached by an enemy. Even though they are almost blind, they can smell and hear quite well.
Yao guai - species of mutated American black bear. extremely fast and powerful creatures, second only to deathclaws in terms of raw strength and speed. Unlike deathclaws, they are less alert; the player may come in contact with one when it is asleep or laying down.
Deathclaw - Deathclaws have a hunchbacked, bipedal reptilian build with long humanoid arms. They stand roughly nine to ten feet tall, with a thick and resilient hide, powerful muscles, and twelve-inch-long, razor-sharp claws that can kill almost any other creature in only a few swipes; hence their name. They have an excellent sense of smell and hearing, though their eyesight is poor. Their build gives them incredible speed, agility and strength in close combat, making them an extreme threat. Though they were originally mutated chameleons, they have lost the ability to camouflage themselves.
Deathclaws are very aggressive, territorial, and carnivorous. They typically live in small packs of around eight to twenty members led by an alpha male, who is the only one allowed to mate with the females. Deathclaws are oviparous, with the eggs typically laid in dark, sheltered locations and fiercely guarded by their mother. Young deathclaws reach maturity under the care of their parents, following them closely until they are old enough to fend for themselves. Although they do not have vocal cords, they can growl and shout, and some seem to be able to mimic human speech much the same as a parrot does. However, normal deathclaws aren't intelligent enough to be capable of real speech.
Gecko - Geckos are generally found in small packs. They charge or leap at their opponents with their mouths open ready to snap down, along with being known to simply attack with their claws rapidly. Some sub-species of geckos can breathe fire or spit poison, so that they may also attack from a distance. Their hides and meat are useful ingredients; in particular the hides, once tanned, can be used to craft several varied types of armor which offer greater defense than their base variants along with resistances to fire, poison, and radiation.
